The Real Housewives of New York City certainly had a weird ending to their vacation, an episode all about a naked man and privacy, Dorinda Medley is now putting in her two cents on all the drama that erupted this past week.
Dorinda Medley, New York’s newest castmate, took to her Bravo TV blog this week to discuss the vacation from hell she had with her fellow RHONY castmates. Dorinda begins her blog by discussing the whole naked man gate as we call it, she admits that while it clearly wasn’t smart to have a random naked man sleep over, the drama that pursued following it lead by Heather Thomson and Princess Carole was over the top clearly.
Was it smart or considerate to let a stranger pass out in an empty guest room? No. Not at all. Thanks, Ramona. Is it necessary to go on a “What if?” crusade and cause such a disturbance (for the sake of having a disturbance about the fear of a hypothetical or potential disturbance)? No. (You see? Complex and complicated for NO reason.) And that’s the point that everyone is realizing.
Dorinda admits that if something awful had happened then it would be a different story, and that point needed to be made however nothing did happen so their was no need to go ballistic about it. Dorinda next explains that she holds herself accountable for the F U dinner and that she admits to drinking a little to much that night. However she still stands by her word and felt genuinely hurt about the fact that Heather brought her family into the matter.
I hold myself accountable at all times and even admitted that I drank too much that night. But I also want to be clear about this: I was genuinely hurt and simply didn’t appreciate Heather bringing up my daughter, my boyfriend, my mother, and then almost patronize me to calm me down. Was I wound up? Yes. Do I get a little paranoid if I don’t hear things entirely or very clearly? Yes. Does the Martini Express f— me up sometimes? Yes. Am I a lunatic? No. And though Bethenny made some reasonably valid points, I think it’s fair for anyone to get defensive if their family and/or loved ones get dragged into a conversation for the sake of making a pointless point
A funny part of Dorinda’s blog was when she gave all the ladies nicknames like Madame Yummie for Heather Thomson and of course The Ramonacoaster for Ramona, she calls out the ladies for their double standards when it comes to calling her out on her personal life, while they themselves don’t appreciate when that happens.
I know Skinny Girl —like The Countess, Princess Carole, Madame Yummie, Lady Morgan, and The RamonaCoaster—doesn’t tolerate when her personal life is judged and her “ethics” and “values” are questioned. So why the double standard?
Finally Dorinda discusses the end of the episode where LuAnn and Heather could not just see eye to eye, she reveals how she understand LuAnn’s point of view (Invasion of Privacy) but she also sees Heather’s point of view (Safety…Hello Mama Bear.) Dorinda wishes the ladies could just meet in the middle and get along again.
The way I see it is this: To Lu, it was an invasion of her privacy and really not about Naked Man. To Heather, it was about her safety—and Carole’s jewelry—and not about Lu’s privacy. I just wish they could meet in the middle, but no…that would be normal. Can’t have that.
What do you guys think of Dorinda’s blog this week? Do you agree with her?
