We love to hate her, and yet at the same time we all were glad to see her finally leave the Real Housewives of Atlanta. Ever since RHOA first premiered fans where glued to their screens, and more importantly to NeNe Leakes. Leakes was clearly the queen of the ball, and the shadiest of them all. NeNe’s ability to think quick and snap some shade right back at ya, lead to her rise in fame.
NeNe Leakes was able to capture the hearts of her viewers, and at the same time make them hate her with a passion. After a very successful run on the Real Housewives of Atlanta it clearly was time for NeNe Leakes to go. While the biggest attraction on the Real Housewives of Atlanta it was clear that NeNe had overstayed her welcome.
Leakes became boring, bitter and stuck up. While people are still trying to debate on whether NeNe Leakes was fired or if she actually quit, Leakes is speaking out to Access Hollywood to discuss all the reasons that SHE decided to leave the show that made her famous. Also in a surprising twist, NeNe Leakes reveals that she would actually like to return to the Real Housewives, but under the Beverly Hills franchise!
“I would love to join the Beverly Hills ‘Housewives.’ I’d be the only brown girl there. I’d love to fight those girls a little bit. They need a brown girl, I promise. I’d love to do it,”
When it came down to discuss her decision to leave the Real Housewives of Orange County, NeNe Leakes reveals that it actually didn’t come down to money, because hey money isn’t everything for these ladies! NeNe discusses how she was offered a contract to return to the Real Housewives of Atlanta but ultimately didn’t like how she was being attacked on the show more frequently.
“I was offered Season 8, to come back, and it was my decision. I just wanted to do other things. Also, I felt like being on the show all of this time, I felt like I was being attacked a lot. I felt like it was very negative at times. And it was just time for me to sort of step back and just try other things.”
NeNe continued to insist that it didn’t come down to money because producers actually offered her a great salary if she had signed on. Leakes insists that she cares more about her happiness than making a buck, and that is ultimately what lead to her decision to the leave the show.
NeNe finished off her interview by claiming that she is simply irreplaceable on the Real Housewives of Atlanta, and no matter how hard they try they won’t be able to find someone like her. She did however reveal that she could possibly return to the show one day in the future.
