During part three of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion, NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey discussed the fallout of their friendship.
First, Andy said that he doesn’t really understand why their friendship ended. He asked if the fallout began when NeNe called Peter a bitch.
“When that happened was, we all traveled to Mexico, I believe it was,” NeNe explained. “That night, Cynthia and I talked immediately afterwards. I was in my room crying and hysterical on the phone with Cynthia telling her that this just went so wrong. I never wanted Gregg to say anything to Peter, Cynthia 100% agreed. The next day we talked on the phone. There was never ever a problem. Ever.”
NeNe continued, “The only time there was a problem is when it aired on TV. I just think that people were saying things to Cynthia and maybe to Peter and being the clever person that Peter is, he said something to Cynthia like, ‘Maybe this a good chance for you to change gears with NeNe.’ Fast forward. We had already planned that we were going to ring in the New Year in Vegas. We go off to Vegas, a show had aired, and Cynthia had made some comments about Noelle and Arthur and having a grand baby. I commented in my blog and she felt funny about what I said and next thing I know the calls kind of stopped. We stopped texting. Then I came to the reunion show and they told me that Cynthia had been requested to be moved since she was sitting beside me last season.”
“That’s why I said I was blindsided, because I had no idea she was going to move her seating, confront me over calling Peter a b-word, and also say that I was disrespectful, because we never had any issue,” NeNe said.

So what’s Cynthia’s side of the story?
“I never requested to have my seating changed, because I never know where you guys are going to seat me,” Cynthia said. “Honestly, I didn’t know I had the power to request certain seating.”
“You don’t,” Andy added.
“So going back to the trip when the whole thing started with the whole bitch thing,” Bailey continued. “At Kenya’s charity event… she was not happy to be there. Peter I guess felt at that point like I don’t want to see her look crazy. Peter said what he said, his tone was absolutely fine. Things were uncomfortable, but we still were good. We get to Mexico, Peter says to me, ‘Gregg pulled me aside and said that he caught a lot of flack at Kenya’s event by not saying anything at the time when Peter and NeNe were having a conversation. He wanted to know if I would give him an opportunity to address it on camera.’ So Peter was like, ‘I’m a husband and I think it would be a good opportunity for me and you as men.’”
Andy asks Cynthia what led to the fallout.
“Anyway, so then it starts to happen and Peter and Gregg are fighting,” Cynthia explains. “I never thought and NeNe never thought in her dreams that it would escalate to that point.”
“So we get to Vegas. I said something on the show and NeNe took it a certain way and she wrote something in her blog,” she continues. “I texted her and said, ‘We’re on vacation together. We’re at a hotel together. You couldn’t have just called me and said, ‘I say stuff, you say stuff, I didn’t like the way that came off?’ So I just thought it was crazy to be with her in Vegas and then be reading shade on the blog and then we getting ready to go have dinner tonight. At that point I was just like I’m not going to force this. It just… was never really the same.”
